Note: it is typical for HMS to have a data gap as the daily standard file is being processed
Known outages for NASA FIRMS data (VIIRS 375m instruments) can be checked here

Known satellite alerts for NOAA products (HMS, GOES, etc) can be checked here

In order to assign a type to a cluster, FIS considers the indicators which come from the fire detections that make up the cluster. Fire detections can have any number of indicators. Therefore, clusters can have multiple type indicators and ultimately a type decision must be made. Here is a chart of the number of each type indicator present across clusters in the latest FIS run. Note, the presence of an indicator does not mean it was the authority for that cluster.
As noted, because a cluster can have multiple indicators, sometimes conflicting information occurs. Here is a table of clusters which had conflicts from the latest run:
